terrace farming
The Inca had an interesting way of farming. Living in the mountains the Incas had to adapt to the high altitude and slanted land, giving them the idea of terrace farming. The Incas carved steps into the mountain so that they could have flat land. The steps would help the rain water not run off and distribute the water evenly. The terraces had aqueducts used for farmland irrigation. The Incas grew more than 200 types of potatoes. The Incas also grew: quinoa, tomatoes, avocados, peppers, strawberries, peanuts, squash, beans, pineapple, bananas, spices, and coco. This is the Incas way of farming.
